Children & Adolescent Services
Center for Women in Transition child and adolescent services are designed to
serve children, teens, and their mothers who have witnessed or been victims of
domestic violence. In addition, our program serves teens that have experienced
sexual assault and/or trauma. Our goal is to provide preventative counseling
services to help families recover from, and ideally stop the cycle of abuse.
Individual, family and group counseling sessions are provided in a safe,
confidential, and welcoming environment.

The following services are available:
Individual Counseling
Counselors meet with young people to help them identify and develop their
skills and abilities for dealing with the effects of family violence.
Family Counseling
Through counseling, family members can learn to stand together and support each
other in dealing with the problems related to family violence.
Groups
“Recovering from Domestic Violence”
Adult women, teens and elementary aged children meet in separate groups. The
focus of these groups is to provide support and education to individuals and
families who have experienced domestic violence. Child care is provided for
young children (infants through pre-school age) by specially trained staff and
volunteers.
The groups take place on Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 pm at the Center for Women in
Transition office in Holland.
